William Jesse Helms
Funeral services for William Jesse Helms, 50, of 1590 E. Mallory St., who died Tuesday night in a local hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in McNeil Chapel, with the Revs. W. J. Hughes and J. E. Vance Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was a native of Monroe, NC. He moved to Pensacola from Chipley in 1937. He was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Co., and was a member of St. Mark Methodist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Sweeney, Hobson Miller, Lloyd Jenkins, Floyd DeLapp, Stanley Chinn, W. E. McDonald, Charles Malone, Bryan Haynes, Ralph Freeman, George Oberhausen and C. C. Gordon Jr.
Active pallbearers will be Bill Lowery, Quintin Slay, Joe Wilkinson, Bill Strange, Lloyd Harmon and Till Coleman.
