Mrs. Thelma Jewell Flatt, age 89, of Bloomington Springs, passed away January 20, 2023 at Bailey Manor Assisted Living Home, where she resided for the last two and a half years. She was born on June 11,1933 in Jackson County, TN to the late Robert and Lizzie Dyer. She was a member at the Pippin Church of Christ.
Jewell worked various jobs over the course of her life, but she was most known for her work in the home. Jewell loved to work outside in the garden, cook meals in her kitchen that she could share with others, or help care for her family, including her 4 grandchildren, Sean (Hillary) Flatt, Sarah Randolph, Kasey (John) Nichols, and Kayla (Dalton) Satterfield, and her 6 great-grandchildren, Josiah, Silas, and John David Nichols, Zane and Pate Flatt, and Ezra Satterfield. In addition to her grandchildren, she is survived by her daughter, Linda (Don) Randolph of Cookeville.
In addition to her parents, Jewell is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clifford Flatt, whom she married August 4,1953, her son and daughter-n-law, Dale and Judy Flatt, brothers Willard Dyer, Everett Dyer, Boyd Dyer, Edgbert Dyer, Winward Dyer, Mackie Hulon Dyer, and sisters Jessie May Dyer, Reba Kinniard, and Maggie Elise Young.
