A great cowboy turned in his spurs for wings on January 17, 2023. Raymond Samuel Donica of Antlers, Oklahoma passed away at his home at the age of 85 surrounded by his family.
Raymond was born on October 31, 1937, in Nashoba, Oklahoma to Quartermaine and Mary Donica. He graduated from Nashoba High School in 1955. He served in the Army from 1957 through 1961. Raymond married the love of his life, Carolyn Aday, on August 12, 1961, in Nashoba.
Raymond graduated from Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma with a degree in Industrial Arts in 1966. He taught school first in Waurika, Oklahoma and then in Antlers, but his real passion was ranching and horses. His other passion was family.
Raymond was a strong man of integrity, not easily swayed. He worked hard and believed others should too. But he also subscribed to the belief that hard work should be matched with laughter and play. By working hard, he accomplished his dream - a beautiful family and a successful ranch with cattle and horses he loved to ride.
Raymond not only raised his own two daughters with these principles, but he also played a major role in the lives of many nephews and nieces, granddaughters and now great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, two daughters, Cindy Roberts and her husband Martin, and Lisa Sorrells and her husband Daniel. Five granddaughters, Kori Patel and her husband Nishant, Kaylee Epps and her husband Max, Emily Hobbs and her husband Tyler, Julie Sorrells, Martha Clark and her husband RJ. Five great-grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Hayden, Cora and Lennox. He is also survived by one brother, Dwight Donica, and his wife Betty, and one sister, Alberta LeFlore.
He is preceded in death by his parents Quartermaine Donica and Mary Prager, and two brothers, Thomas M. Donica and Gale Donica
