Albert was born in New Jersey to Albert W. and Marie F. (Magin) Bange on January 15, 1929. He passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022. Services celebrating his life will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, with the family welcoming friends beginning at 1:00 P.M.

Albert earned a BS from Seton Hall University and his DDS at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. While attending dental school, he married his best friend's sister, the girl of his dreams, Joan Irene Wirth.

After graduating from dental school, together they started a 30 year career in the U.S. Air Force. Their assignments took them to Keesler AFB, MS; Thule AB, Greenland (unaccompanied tour); Randolph AFB, TX; Lackland AFB, TX (residency for Masters degree); Houston, TX (coursework for Masters degree); Torrejon AB, Spain; Barksdale AFB, LA; and Lackland AFB.

Albert and Joan settled in Haughton, LA after retiring from the Air Force. He continued to serve by consulting and conducting continuing education training for the USAF Dental Corps for ten more years.

Al was an avid and talented golfer. His many accomplishments on the golf course were

highlighted by winning the 1950 Metropolitan (New York) Golf Association Intercollegiate Division Championship, 1951 Metropolitan (New York) Golf Association Public Links Championship, 1958 Mississippi State Amateur Championship, 1962 Low Amateur Texas Open, and the 1994 Louisiana Super Senior Golf Association Championship.

Al was a loving and dedicated husband and father. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Joan Irene Wirth Bange. He is survived by his sons, CDR Jeffrey Donald Bange, (Stephanie), USN (Ret), and Steven Wesley Bange (Jeannette); grandchildren, Wesley Bange (Megan), Melanie Bange (Wesley Stone), Amy Yoshimoto (LT COL Brian Yoshimoto USAF [Ret]), and Keith Bange (Kelley); and great grandchildren, Caroline, Ethan, and Leilani.
