A resident of Zachary, A. G. Savell died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fisher on Feb. 16, 1917. He was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart.

Survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Fuselier Savell; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Donna, of Charlotte, N.C., Charles and Sandy, of Overland Park, Kan., and Steve and Debbie, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Brady and Shannon.

Arrangements entrusted to Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary. Burial in Port Hudson National Cemetery.
