Jamie Lynn Hazelton, 43, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

She was born on May 22, 1979 to Darrell and Elaine (Lingvai) Tygart in Westminster, Colorado. Jamie was proud of the fact both her parents were retired law enforcement officers. She graduated from Aravada West High School, Aravada, Colorado in 1997. Jamie worked in customer service for Time Warner Cable Company and was also a receptionist for Williams County of Job and Family Services. On October 1, 2004 she married Adam Hazelton and he survives in Defiance, Ohio. Jamie enjoyed music, reading, arts and crafts, and he was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. She loved spending time with her family and was a very loving mother.

Jamie is survived by her husband Adam Hazelton, sons, Caden and Brock Hazelton both at home, her mother, Elaine Kuehne, her brother, Darrell (Amy) Tygart, Jr. of Thornton, CO, sisters, Dee (Glenn) Lasater of Denver, CO and Marie (Cecil) Hitzges of Frederick, CO, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Amy (Dave) Utendorf, aunts and uncles, Jim (Bev) Lingvai of Dripping Springs, TX, Ed (Barb) Lingvai of Bryan, OH, Martin Lingvai of Halfway, OR, Sharon (Harry) Smith of Pendleton, IN, Susan (Mike) Burkhart of Defiance, and Bill (Theresa) Lingvai of Beavercreek, OH.

She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell L. Tygart, Sr., her brother, William Tygart, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, with Fr. David Cirata officiating. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to her family.
