Billy Dale Brasel, age 87 of Jasper, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.

The son of George and Flossie (Spradley) Brasel was born on April 20, 1935, in Jasper, AR.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Riesenecker and Georgia Lee Abel.

Billy lived in Jasper his whole life. He joined the Air Force after he graduated high school. He then came back to Jasper and sold real estate for 40 years. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at the Ozark Café every morning. And he loved watching Razorback basketball games and his grandson Dylan playing basketball at Jasper.

Billy is survived by his son, Doug Brasel, and his wife Dana of Jasper; his grandson Dylan Kilgore of Jasper; and his sister, Eleanor Sue "Susie" of Overland Park, Kansas.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2023, at Jasper Cemetery with Pastor Troy Walker and Pastor James Compton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Joe Paul James, Billy Wallace, Randy Keef, Tim Roberson, Scott Roberson, Andy Daniels, Logan Bryant, Tim Emerson, and Brad Bailey.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff of the Newton County Nursing Home. And all of Billy's buddies that he drank coffee with at the Cafe and all his buddies he watched the Razorback basketball games with.
