Alan A. Lemery, 75, of Windsor, CA, formerly of Warwick, RI, died January 1, 2023.


Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Conrad A. Lemery and Lorraine (Columbia) Lemery.


Alan received a Bachelor's degree in Social Services from the University of Rhode Island and a Master's degree in Agency Counseling from Rhode Island College.


He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star.


Following a 25-year career as a social worker and administrative hearings officer with the Rhode Island Department of Social Services.


Alan moved to the West Coast because "the wines are better in California!" He loved promoting the wines and foods of the region and was a certified tourism ambassador of Sonoma County. Other interests included tennis, chess and travel both domestic and foreign.


He is survived by his wife Kathy Lane and his brother-and sister-in-law, The Rev. Dr. Gary C. Lemery and his wife Kate of Jamestown, RI.


Together Alan and Kathy cherished the circle of friends with whom they shared many wonderful experiences.


A celebration of his life was held in Windsor, CA.
