Funeral services for James Henry Aber, well known and highly respected Brown county farmer, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Hersman Presbyterian church, Rev. Robert M. Means of Camp Creek, Ill., officiating. Mrs. Charles E. Turner was at the piano.
Mr. Aber died at the Schmitt memorial hospital in Beardstown at 10:55 a.m. April 16th, after a lingering illness.
He was born on January 6, 1877, a son of William and Eliza Myers Aber. He followed the profession of farming all his life, retiring only when his health began to fail. He was a member of the Hersman Presbyterian church.
He was married to Sarah Elizabeth Fagan, who preceded him in death in 1929. On March 21, 1931, he was united in marriage with Manda Fagan, who with two children, George Aber and C. D. Aber survive. Also surviving are one brother, Fred W. Aber and a sister, Mrs. John Rigg; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral rites were Robert Stoffer, Frank Fagan, James Ingels, Von Hughes, James A. Fagan and Otha Fagan. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Gladys Lewis, Mrs. Mildred Fry, Mrs. Mae Elliott and Mrs. Ruth Thomas. Interment was in the Mt. Sterling Mausoleum, Rounds funeral directors in charge.
