Last Monday morning near Bunger's Mill, four miles west of town, a child of Mr Ed Hayes, 14 months old, was burned to death at its father's home. Mrs Hayes was in an adjoining room attending to household duties, and when she returned to the room in which she had left the child, she found that its clothing had caught fire and had burned entirely off. The child lived only a few hours. Mrs Hayes is a daughter of John Rutherford of this place.
