Leota Mae Knight was born June 10, 1926 in Lebo, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Lyda Mae (Everett) Knight.
She was joined in marriage to Albert "Abe" Charles Botkin on August 16, 1941 in Topeka. To this union four son were born, Terry, David, Danny and Tony.
Leota and Abe moved to Emporia in 1949 and moved back to Lebo in 1954. She had worked for Crawford Manufacturing and I.B.P. in Emporia. While Abe was in the Army, she worked at Ruby's Cafe with her sister, Ruby. Her main priority was on her husband and children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Terry Botkin; three brothers, Ben Junior Knight, Willard Carson Knight and Donald Clayton Knight and a sister, Ruby Lucille Knight.
Leota will be forever remembered by her sons, David Botkin of Knoxville, Tennessee, Danny (Terry) Botkin of Lebo and Tony (Debbie) Botkin of Lebo; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2023 at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Family will receive friends an hour before service.
