American Daredevil and son of Evel Kneivel

Robert "Robbie" Knievel, stuntman, entertainer.
Born May 7, 1962, the son of stuntman Robert "Evel" Knievel and his first wife, Linda. He was the second of four children.

Robbie began jumping his bicycle at age four and rode motorcycles at age seven. At age eight, he performed his first show with his father at Madison Square Garden. At age twelve, he was on tour with his father, where he would perform in the pre-jump shows. Robbie attended Central Catholic High School in Butte, Montana between 1975 and 1976, but never graduated. He wanted to lengthen his jumps, but his father disapproved. Robbie then went solo with his dad's approval.

Robbie's brother Kelly recalled other stunts, including a 2004 jump over a row of military aircraft on the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid museum in New York.

Robbie Knievel, who promoted himself as "Kaptain Robbie Knievel," set several stunt records, however he also failed in several attempts. In 1992, at age 29, he was injured when he crashed into the 22nd of 25 pickup trucks lined up across a 180-foot span in Cerritos, California. "Injuries took quite a toll on him," Kelly Knievel said Friday.

Robbie died of cancer with his 3 daughters by his side.
