James S. Coulos age 92, of Batavia, formerly of Geneva, Illinois passed away peacefully November 13, 2021. He was a graduate of Geneva H.S. class of 1946. He graduated from the University of Chicago, and after his military service, the University of Illinois.

He taught at Peoria H.S., Main Township H.S., the University of Illinois, and Northern Illinois University.

In his retirement he was active at his church, the Elgin Choral Union, and the 23rd Infantry Regiment, Korean War Branch, a national organization of which he was Secretary/Treasurer.

He was devoted to his high school classmates and his fellow veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents Spiros and Sophia Coulos, sister Betty Lou, and brother Harry.

James is survived by numerous cousins.

Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 5th Ave., Aurora, IL 60504.

Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 5th Ave, Aurora, IL 60504. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will be private
