Homer Nelson Morgenthaler, 73, of Watson, LA, went on to Glory to meet his Heavenly Father on January 7th, 2023. He was in the comfort of his home and was surrounded by family and friends at the time of passing.
Homer was born on October 25, 1949 in Galesburg, Illinois to Welcher and Mary Morgenthaler. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and rose up the ranks to sergeant before he was honorably discharged in 1972. He married Brenda Doetch on July 28, 1969. Homer was a computer analyst and enjoyed farming, woodworking, home remodeling, and telling witty jokes. Homer spent many years farming and doing construction with his brother, Carrol. Homer also served our Lord in various capacities by running the sound board, driving the church bus, as well as serving as a Trustee.

He is survived by his wife; Brenda Kay Morgenthaler, his daughters and their spouses; Dana and Shane Simpson of Pride, Jennifer and Chad Robertson of Hammond, his grandchildren: Tyler (Sara Seidel), Emily and Olivia Simpson, and Morgan and Hunter Robertson.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Welcher and Mary Morgenthaler, as well as his nephew Chris Morgenthaler.

Services will be held at Watson Baptist Church in Watson, LA on Friday, January 13. Visitation will be from 10-12, with funeral services starting at 12, graveside service to follow at Amite Baptist Church Cemetery
