WARWICK -- Mrs. Alice M. (Lawless) Cushman, 87 of 55 Westwood Ave., East Longmeadow, formerly of Warwick and Springfield, died Friday in Springfield nursing home.

She was born in Worcester, Vt., and had been a 17-year resident of East Longmeadow.

Mrs. Cushman was a past president of The Hampden County Women's Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Warwick Women's Guild.

She is survived by her husband, Burt of East Longmeadow; three sons, E. John Corkins of White River Junction, Vt., Linus Corkins of Palmer and Robert Cushman of East Longmeadow; a daughter Lena Corkins of Bernardston; two brothers, Herbert Lawless of Palmer and Harry Lawless of Walter, Okla.; a sister Mrs. Flora Oliver of Athol; 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Byron Funeral Home of Springfield is in charge of private funeral arrangements. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Orange.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Western Chapter of the Mass. Heart Assn. or the American Cancer Society.
