After a long and painful illness, Miss Agnes Jessie Bicket passed away at the residence of her mother, Mrs M.H. Bicket, Piper-street, Yarrawonga, on Friday last. The deceased, who was 21 years of age and a native of Telford, contracted a chill whilst in Melbourne in January last, from the effects of which she never recovered, Bright's disease setting in. The deceased possessed a charming personality, and during a lengthy period of residence at Telford she was always a prominent figure at social gatherings. Being a talented pianiste, her services were at all times willingly given in the cause of charity. In patriotic matters during the war period, Miss Bicket was a prominent figure, and until leaving Telford with her mother to reside at Yarrawonga, she held the position of secretary to the Tungamah Red Cross Society, and was a most enthusiastic and indefatigable worker in the interests of the soldiers on service overseas. During her lengthy illness she bore her suffering with christian fortitude. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon last, when there was a large attendance at the graveside in the Tharanbegga cemetery, the Rev. Jno Gillan conducting the burial service of the Presbyterian Church.
