Doyle D. Burkeens was born November 7, 1949 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Drew Archie and Ruth Frances Cosby Burkeens.

He was united in marriage to Sherry Suitor on August 12, 2000.

Doyle worked for AG & N in Adamsville, TN as a small engine mechanic for approximately 27 years. He was a tinkerer who enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, camping, fishing, and old cars. Doyle's son-in-law J. C. got him interested in watching Tennessee football and he became a Vol for life. He loved to eat and a big meal was almost always followed by a good nap. Doyle honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict and was proud to be a veteran.

Doyle departed this life on January 9, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 2 Months, 2 Days. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sherry Burkeens of Adamsville, TN; two daughters, Amanda Sanders and husband J. C. of Santonville, TN and Ashley Lipford of Adamsville, TN; a son, Jeff Burkeens and wife Jennifer of Adamsville, TN; seven grandchildren: Michael Willis and wife Courtney, Hunter Burkeens and wife Kieana, Johnny Burkeens, Kayla Burkeens, Kacey Burkeens, Harper Sanders, and Mikaela Sims; a sister, Belinda Jewell Hardin of Ramer, TN; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Linda Gail Burkeens; a son, Michael Doyle Burkeens; and several siblings.
