Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Interment will follow in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Lavon was born January 11, 1936 to Claude Cass White and Thelma (Roupp) in Arkansas City. She attended Arkansas City schools, graduating form the high school in 1955.
On September 21, 1956 she married Floyd B. Anderson in Arkansas City where the couple has made their home since. Lavon was primarily a homemaker, she worked briefly for Newman's Dry Goods and USD 470 transportation. She was a member of the West Kansas Avenue Church of God and gospel band.
Lavon is survived by her husband, Floyd Anderson of the home; daughter, Pam Anderson of Arkansas City; sisters, Wanda Hickey and husband, Wesley of Arkansas City, Charlotte Colbert of Valley Center; grandson, Cody Griesel of Florence, CO; granddaughter, Kylee Armer of Arkansas City; niece, Kim Moss and husband, Keith of Valley Center; nephews, Don Hickey and wife, Jackie of Arkansas City, Aaron Hickey of Texarkana, AR and Craig Colbert of Valley Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Paul B. White and son, Rick Anderson.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
