Daughter of Paul T Sanders, Sr. and Julia Sanders. The family moved to Savannah, GA in 1950. She attended Eli Whitney Elementary, Chatham Junior H.S. and Savannah H.S.. She met George in 1970 and they were married on January 30, 1971. They moved to Hilton Head Island in 1974 and lived in Palmetto Dunes. She worked for Elliott's Drugs in Savannah (then in Hilton Head Island), the Hilton Head Fire Department (accounting), hostessing at the Gaslight Restaurant, as a teller at Banker's Trust, and office manager for the Kermit Huggins Residential Design firm for 30 years. She was predeceased by her parents; and stepdaughter, Myrtalee Sustache. Surviving are her husband of almost 52 years, George W Flathman; daughters, Julia Cardozo of Hilton Head Island, and Amanda Childress of Lawrenceville, GA; sons, Ronnie P Dixon of Hilton Head Island, Roger S Dixon (Elizabeth) of Charleston, SC, and Alex J Flathmann of Pawtucket, RI; stepson, George W Flathmann, Jr. (Sheila) of Brooklet, GA; grandchildren, Isabella Cardozo of Hilton Head Island, Haley, Sydney, Isabelle, Peyton, and Benjamin of the Dixon Family in Charleston, Megan and Mariah Sustache of Jacksonville, FL, and Alex, Austin and Ava of Lawrenceville, GA; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Roman and Mia of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Peggy McAlister of Savannah, GA; brother, Paul Thomas Sanders, Jr., Port Wentworth, GA; niece, Scarlett and nephew, Kaleb of Augusta; and special niece, Amanda J Glover (Scott) of Augusta, GA.
