She was the grandaughter of Elijah and Susanna Kruzan King. She was the the great-grandaughter of Francis II and Mary Katherine Richards King who were the Jackson County settlers of the Francis King Family. Francis King settled in Stafford County, Virginia in the middle 1600s as an indentured servant because he was the younger son of a wealthy family.
