Mike was born March 3, 1949 in Davenport, IA to Harold and Thyra (Koehler) McKinney. He served in the Navy from 1970 until 1972. He retired from B&D Automotive Service in Walcott.
He was an avid canoer, having floated many rivers with his canoeing club over the years. He was a life-long Cubs fan. Mike enjoyed contributing smoked turkey and homemade ice cream to family events. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews for the many vacation road trips across the West and the laughter around the campfire.
He is survived by his brother Thomas (Joyce), Punta Gorda Toledo District, Belize and sisters MaryAnn Pauli and Ellen (Richard) Houston, both of Davenport, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great- grand nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joni McKinney, brother-in-law, Loras Pauli and nephews Steve and John Pauli and Rich Houston.
