HEZEKIAH, son of Joseph, b. in Medfield 3 Nov., 1692; was a carpenter by trade, residing for a short time in Weston and removing to Dedham about 1723, in which year he was dismissed from the church in Medfield to that in Natick. ...He was selectman of Dedham in 1748, 1749 and 1750. In 1749 he was chosen one of a committee to procure timber for the new meeting-house (Springfield Parish), which was to be 42 feet long, 34 feet wide and 30 feet high "from ye ell to ye top of the plate." The house was built on the easterly side of Trout Brook, in the 3rd precinct, a short distance in the rear of the present Congregational church. The Allen family occupied seats of prominence in the church and the chair used by Mrs. Allen is still in existence and had, at that time, been many years in the family. Hezekiah resided in that part of the town now Dover, owning a large tract of land, near Pegan Hill, extending from Natick to Medfield, and which remained in the family until about 18S6. He was buried in the old cemetery in Dover...

He m., in Dedham 4 Apr., 1722, Mary, dau. Daniel and Elizabeth Draper, b. in Dedham 5 Nov., 1696; d. 25 Oct, 1775. Ch, all b. in Dedham.
