He was born on December 21, 1929 in Bakerton, Pennsylvania to the late Matilda and David Barnes.
Ralph served proudly in the United States Air Force for 30 years and 29 days. During his time in service, he obtained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and received many accommodations including a Bronze Star. Following his time in service, he worked as a Civil Engineer on many military bases throughout the United States. In his free time, he enjoyed golf and spending time with his family.
Survivors include Sandra Barnes, wife of 34 years; siblings, Don Barnes, Ed Barnes, Darlene Lamont.; children, Paul (Judy) Barnes, Darlene (Pat) Moneypenny; stepdaughter Sherri (Michael) Belcolore; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his son, David Barnes; siblings, William Barnes, Paul Barnes, Earl Barnes, Robert Barnes, Ruth Barnes and Betty Jean Ciciarelli.
A service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date to be announced.
