After the death of her husband, William, Lois moved back to Canada to live with her daughter, Orpha Sheppard. Upon her death, they shipped her body back to Fremont for burial beside her husband. The transportation permit list her name as Louis, instead of Lois, though the death certificate clearly says Lois. This is how I believe the misspelling of her name happened on her headstone. And why the plot marker is under the Sheppard family stone.
