Joan was born in Amarillo, Texas on March 26, 1943, the daughter of Dontrell and Lily (Benderman) Willette. She graduated from Amphitheater High School in Tuscon, Arizona, with the Class of 1963. After graduation, her family moved to Bakersfield, California. Joan married Joel Pratt on March 30, 1967 in Hayward, California. Joel died on July 6, 2018.
Joan worked at Interchecks in Napa, California for nine years, until retiring due to her health. Most of all, Joan loved taking care of her family. She was an active member of Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of String A Long and crocheted prayer shawls for the community. Joan enjoyed reading, cooking, scrapbooking, card making, and crafting clothes for her grandchildren.
Joan will be dearly missed by her two children, Cassandra (Ross) Goff of Modesto, California, and Patrick (Carolyn) Pratt of Bettendorf; seven grandchildren, Michelle Votta, Melissa (Jason) Young, Nicole Castillo, Anthony (Destenie) Castillo, Alissa Pratt, Samuel Pratt, and Jacob Goff; and eight great grandchildren, Zoe, Raegan, Hailyn, Hunter, Lainey, Josiah, Lincoln, and Liam; and one sister, Karen Ragen of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joel; and one brother, Phillip Willette.
