Son of Elmer H and Bernice (Gifford) Lawrence. He lived in Rochester for all of his life. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for his brother's business for many years before retiring. Previously, he had worked for the Town of Rochester as the Chief of Police. He had also worked as a dispatcher and a firefighter. He was a member of the Rochester Men's Brotherhood, the Retired Massachusetts Police Chief's Association, Retired Fire Fighter's Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gifford, Otis, David, Maxwell, Russell, and Nathan Lawrence. Survivors include his wife, Carol (Winslow) Lawrence; sons, Gifford Lawrence of Rochester and David Lawrence of Mattapoisett; four daughters, Stephanie Meservey of Port St. Lucie, FL, Sheila Daniel of Rochester, Teresa Stasiowski of Athens, ME, and Rosalie Silvia of Campton, NH; two brothers, George Lawrence of Rochester and Stephen Lawrence of Harwich; sister, Bernice Gill of Winnebago, NE; sixteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
