Born in Duncan, OK. The middle of three brothers, Leo joined the Navy after graduating High School in 1961. He traveled abroad serving the Navy seeing many sights that he had stories about. Stationed 4 years in Japan where his two children were born. After returning to the states he was stationed in NJ and CA before being stationed at Bremerton Naval Base in 1982, which became his permanent residence.
Retired as Master Chief in 1991 after serving 30 years. Drove school bus for South Kitsap from 1991 to 2003. He was remarried in 2001 to Barbara Cherry.

He loved to travel in his RV, camp, fish, crab and shrimp in the Hood Canal.
Camp hosted at Twanoh State Park for 6 summers – met many wonderful people
in his time there. He was working on a goal of building fishing poles from scratch for the kids and grandkids.

Proceeded in death by his Mother, Infant daughter, and late wife Sandi. He is survived by his father TK Nunley of OK; 2 brothers; Jerry of OK, L.E. of KY; son Michael of Allyn, daughter Jenifer Collins of Portland OR; wife Barbara, step children Barbie, Jessa, Talyn from the Port Orchard area, and Jenny of TN. 16 grand children, 2 great grand children, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life & Reception will be 1:30pm Saturday Dec. 28th at Rill's Life Tribute Center. A memorial webpage can be accessed at www.rill.com.
