James E. Somers, 86, long-time owner of the Seneca Bait Shop in Senecaville and a resident of Senecaville, passed away Saturday (December 24, 2022) at his home.

He was born August 4, 1936 in Noble County, son of the late Charles Somers and Mary Elizabeth (Gregg) Somers. A graduate of Batesville High School, Jim owned & operated the Seneca Bait Shop for over sixty years.

He enjoyed gardening and cooking. Jim was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Louise DeLong. He is survived by three nephews and two nieces.

No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday (December 30, 2022) at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, with Evan. Mark Beros officiating.
