He was born Jan. 19, 1926 in Harrisburg to the late Frank B. Michner and Ruth Henderson.
He was retired from the former Historical Times Illustrated of Harrisburg; an Army veteran of World War II; a former Howe Twp. supervisor and planning commission member; a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Newport, where he was a former council president and Sunday school teacher; a Republican committeeman for Howe Twp. and a member of the Perry County Republican Executive Committee; past president of the Newport Lions Club; a former Boy Scout leader, Little League coach and trombonist with the Newport Drum and Bugle Corps and other bands and orchestras; a member of Newport American Legion Post 177, Newport VFW Post 34, Newport Lodge 381 F&AM, Newport Royal Arch Chapter 238 and the Harrisburg Consistory; an avid baseball fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was the widower of Mildred P. Smith Curry.
Surviving are two sons, Patrick Curry of Dillsburg and Harry Dietz of Warrenton, Va.; a brother-in-law, Michael L. Smith of Newport; and five grandchildren.
Services were held April 3 in his church. Masonic services were by Newport Lodge 381, F&AM, and military honors were by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
