MULLINS - Bobbie Jean Byrd Stanford, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at MUSC in Florence, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 31 at 1:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home, burial will follow at the Watson Cemetery. The service will be lived streamed on the Richardson Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend. Face masks are always available for anyone that wishes to wear one.
Mrs. Stanford was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Tula Collins Hardy. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Leon C. Byrd; a son, Leon C. Byrd, Jr.; daughter Karen Christmas; and sister, Carolyn H. Allen.
Mrs. Stanford was a seamstress, working many years for Sun Fun Sportswear and Blumenthal Mills. She was also a member of Woodmen Life and Resurrection Life Church. Mrs. Bobbie loved her family, often cooking for large crowds of them. She ran the food pantry at Marion Church of God for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Clyde R. Stanford; three daughters, Sharon B. Humphrey (Glenn) of Pelion, Twila Carter (Jimmy) and Sherry Stone all of Summerville; son, Lonnie W. Stanford of Goose Creek; two sisters, Joyce Ann H. Sawyer (Zack) of Conway and Hope H. Hall (Marvin) of Gaston; two brothers, Jerry L Hardy of the Zion Community and Raymond H. Hardy (Carolyn) of Lugoff; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
