Clara moved to Colorado in 1923. Clara married Don Tobin, they were later divorced.
Clara spent her married life in the Erie area, later living in Oregon and Denver and finally settling in Longmont. In the early 1950's, Clara was a Bluebird and Campfire Girls leader. In 1969 Clara attained a long-desired goal: a high school diploma, something she had wanted for 30 years. Clara loved to travel going to Hawaii 3 times, Figi, Singapore, Australia twice, New Zealand twice and Mexico 3 times.
Clara also enjoyed several month long driving trips around the United States with her beloved sister Joyce Riecken. Clara worked at Howards Buffet as a waitress before starting her dream career at Rocky Mountain Consultants, as a bookkeeper and partner. Clara loved her garden and could make anything grow. She had a great affection for animals and dearly loved her various breeds of dogs.
Survived by daughters Janice (Jim) Hamilton, Donna (Lyle) Stratton and Joyce Florian and son Don (Vicki) Tobin, grandson Dean Stratton (Shawna, Jessica and Haleigh), granddaughters Dawn Stacy (Danny Thompson) and her children Mitchell and Nicholas Stacy, Amber Kirby and her children Paige and Trent and Ronda Anderson and her children Justin and Samantha.
Clara is also survived by dear friends Denise (John) Bobbit and Jennifer Vecchi and her children Matt and Sandra.
She is further survived by brother Carl (Deanna) Hill, sister in law Adelene Hill; brother Melvin Stephens and nephew Jack (Sue) Martini with whom she had a special relationship and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Edith, sisters Joyce Riecken and Lois Wiggett and brother Larry Hill.
