Robert Lowell Adkins, 79 of Zanesville, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at his residence. Robert was born September 26, 1928 in Lucasville, Ohio to the late Landon and Bessie Lewis Adkins. He retired from the N&W railroad and was a member of Waverly Baptist Temple. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred Kathleen Fender Adkins.
Robert is survived by his wife Connie Adkins of Zanesville, 7 sons and 1 daughter; Robert L. Adkins Jr. and Linda Sue (Roger) Davis of Lucasville, Larry Charles (Mary) Adkins of Marion, Paul Alan (Kathy) Adkins and L. Stephan (Mary) Adkins of Lucasville, Kenneth Ray (Fatima) Adkins of South Shore, KY, Timothy Glen (Tammy) Adkins of Lucasville ,David Eric Adkins of Columbus and Three Step Children; one brother, Eugene Adkins of Portsmouth; one sister, Phyllis Collett of Westerville; 16 grandchildren, 6 Step Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 1 Step Great Grandchild. He was also preceded in death by 3 brother's, Arnold, Ernie, Earl Adkins; 4 sister's, Estolene Phipp's, Stella Foster, Lavonda Shinkle and Betty Marie Adkins.
Funeral services will be 2pm Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Goodman officiating and internment in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home from 5 to 8PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
