Janesville/Elkhorn – Helen L. Mildorfer , age 84, of 221 Madison St., formerly of 473 Geneva St. Elkhorn, died Wed., June 4, 1997, at Beloit Health and Rehab. Center, Beloit. Helen was born May 29, 1913, in Aden, IL, the daughter of Frederick and Etto (Lillie) Ostrum. She married Vern Nehls in 1954; he died in 1977. She then married Harold Mildorfer in 1979; he died in 1994.
Helen is surived by a son, Gerald (Lela) Miller of Newburg, PA; 2 daughters, Kathy (Kevin) Hurd of Janesville, and Constance (Ronald) Leatherberry of Arlington, WI; 3 step-children; Ruth (Craig) Pfeiffer of Elkhorn, Maynard (Sonja) Mildorfer of Fontana, and son-in law Al Gruling of East Troy; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; 3 sisters; Elsie Schulz of Elkhorn, Maybelle (Floyd) Bates of Beloit, and Iris Hamilton of Colfax. She was preceded in death by her husbands; a sister, Clarice; and a step-daughter, Joanne Gruling.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Sat., June 7, at Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home, Elkhorn, with Rev. Dr. Wallace Christen officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Janesville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Arrangements were completed by Haase- Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Homes.
