Erma L. Robinson
Erma Robinson, 89, of Sterling, completed her earthly journey and went home with the Lord on December 20, 2022. Erma passed away in her home with her loving family by her side.
Erma was born on February 18, 1933, in Rock Falls, the daughter of Clare and Verna (Yeoward) Schutt.
Erma married her high school sweetheart, Charles "Pete" Robinson on January 13, 1950 and they spent 72 years together calling Sterling home, while they traveled the world. Erma was a dedicated wife and mother. She told many stories of growing up on the farm now known as Yeowardville. After marrying, she loved living on the Rock River and fishing. She was a state champion bowler and avid golfer. She was always generous beyond measure. She was a self taught financial manager and stock trader. Her hobbies included sewing for her daughters, gardening, music and bird watching.
She is survived by her four daughters; three sons-in-law; nine grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Verda Mount, Clarabell Knowles, Alice Dietz and one brother, Frank Schutt.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10 AM - 11 AM, at the McDonald Funeral Home of Sterling. The funeral will follow the visitation and take place at 11 AM, with the Reverend Scott Porter, officiating. Burial will conclude at Coloma Township Cemetery of Rock Falls.
A memorial is established to Gaffey Hospice.
