David A. Toole, 67, of Minerva, was set free from cancer on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born on October 18, 1955 in Alliance to the late Arlie Alexander and Lydia Almira (Stewart) Toole, he lived in the Alliance area for most of his life.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Gail who died as an infant in 1940, Marjorie Anne Tanner in 2000, Arlene Mae Gurney in 2002; and a half-brother, Albert Toole in 1992; nieces Michelle Tanner Vogus in 1997, Kathy Gurney Kunkle in 2014; nephews Michael R. Gurney in 2011, and Kevin L. Gurney in 2016; paternal grandparents Leslie G. & Janette (Billington) Toole; and maternal grandparents Alvin T. and Fannie A. (Chapman) Stewart.

A 1974 graduate of West Branch High School, David was employed at Ashland/Marathon Petroleum in Canton as a Project Coordinator for over 35 years.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

There are not enough adjectives to describe Dave; kind, gentle, brilliant, talented, strong, faithful, witty and smart.

Survivors include his wife; his son, Jeremy D. (Erin) Toole, Sr. of Alliance; his daughter, Pamela M. Coffman of Washington, PA; his stepchildren; his sister; his former spouse and mother of his children, Carol L. Patterson of Littleton, WV; grandchildren, Jeremy D. Toole, Jr., Chelsea D. Toole, Arlee J. Toole, Abigayle G. Coffman and Danielle R. Coffman; step-granddaughter, Ashley N. (Justus) Smith; two additional step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
