She was born on Monday, April 7, 1941, in Bald Knob, KY. She married Leonard "Don" Stevens on Sunday, October 17, 1976 in Muncie, IN. Betty attended the Otter Creek High School in Strunk, KY. She was a member of the Westside Southern Baptist Church in Muncie, IN. Betty moved to Muncie. IN in 1960 from Strunk, KY., and then to Montpelier in 1977. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and enjoyed working in her yard.

Dolen; three brothers, Leon Waters, Millard Waters Jr., and Guy Waters; four sisters, Elsie Jones, Stella Ball, Edna Waters, and Joyce Waters; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

1960; her mother, Mae Waters, who departed this life on August 29th, 2005; one daughter, Tammy Alisa Terry Benedict, who departed this life on April 12th, 1999; one son-in-law, John Tony "Johnny" Terry Sr., who departed this life on June 16th, 2021; and one grandson, Jeremiah W. Terry, who departed this life on January 10th, 1996.
Visitations were held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26th, 2022 at the Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier, Indiana.
