Sarah "Alice" (Atchley) Atchley -- daughter of John Riley Atchley and Rachael "Pauline" (Tillery) Atchley.
Moved with her parents from Meigs County, Tennessee to Lancaster, Dallas County, Texas in about 1877. Came to Kiowa County with her husband shortly after 1901, when the territory was opened to white settlement. Lived on the Atchley family farm located near Otter Creek. Moved to Oklahoma City in 1922, where she ran a convenience store from the front parlor of her "Packing Town" home.
Wife of William "Bill" Joseph Riley Atchley, her first cousin, whom she married on 02 Jul 1887 in Lampasas County, Texas. Beloved mother of ten children, here listed in birth order: Charlie Alexander, Bertha Priscilla, Gladys Maude, Clyde Emerson, Joseph Horace, Pauline "Byce," Granville William "Bill," Cecil Odis, Johnny Ralph "Bill," and Opal Alice Atchley.
Buried beside her son, Clyde Emerson Atchley, and near her mother, Rachel Pauline (Tillery) Atchley and grandsons, Jesse and Vernon Atchley, children of Charlie Alexander Atchley. In addition, she is but one of her many Atchley kinfolk whose final place of rest is Roosevelt Cemetery.
