Norma Lea Clemenson Chermak, 89, passed away peacefully December 16, 2022 at Regency Care Center and Assisted Living in Norwalk, Iowa under Hospice care.

She was born March 8, 1933 in Graettinger, Iowa to Chris and Alma (Rasmussen) Clemenson. Norma moved to California in the late 1950's and returned to Iowa in the mid 1990's and settled in Ankeny, Iowa. She moved to Norwalk, Iowa in March of 2020 to Regency Care Center and Assisted Living when her health required more care.

In her spare time, she was a master of jigsaw puzzles. She loved listening to Elvis music and passionately followed the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Another favorite activity was playing dominos and she enjoyed playing the slot machines at Prairie Meadows.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul and David; sisters, Phyllis Hagebock and June Perkins; an infant daughter; and her son, Chris Chermak.

Norma is survived by her grandson, Andrew Chermak of Camarillo, California; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bode of Carmarillo, California; sister-in-law, Karolyn Werstiuk of Glendon, Alberta; 11 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and her childhood friend, Marvis Duus of Graettinger.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 12 p.m. at Valley View Cemetery in Graettinger, Iowa.
