Lady Lucy (Lucie)Douglas Maxwell - countess Nithsdale was born in approx 1602 in Lanarkshire to William Douglas 1st Marquess of Douglas(1589-1660) her mother was Margaret Hamilton. she married Lord Robert John Maxwell 4th lord Nithsdale .and they had 11 children.she died 1699 approx. and was buried in scotland likely near caerlaverock castle - dumfries shire where all the Maxwells were buried ,or in Douglas at St Brides Kirk,lanarkshire -.many different dates of her birth are recorded,but im sure in douglas family records is the true answer.
