Lawrence "Lonnie" Mitchell Lozo passed away on October 20, 2017 at age 82 in Laguna Hills, California, surrounded by his loving family. Lonnie was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Windsor, VT.

Lonnie served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 through 1957.

In his civilian life, Lonnie was a mason during his years in Vermont and Connecticut, and property and maintenance manager in Southern California.

Football was a big part of Lonnie's life and he was a lifelong New York Giants fan. In the last two decades Lonnie has enjoyed golfing, hiking, each and every NY Giants football season, his granddaughter's basketball tournaments and move to college, and watching over his family.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mitchell Lozo of Claremont, NH; his mother, Cressa Lord and stepfather Charles Benton, both of Windsor, VT; sister Leona Reynolds of Southbury, CT; and sister Priscilla Spencer of Windsor, VT.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 63 years Lorraine (Noel) Lozo of Mission Viejo, CA whom he married on December 22, 1953 in Queens, NY, children: Larry Lozo of Orange, CA, Christopher Mitchell of Aliso Viejo, CA, Lindy Mitchell of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Suzi Noel Vallas of Salem, OR; granddaughter Jessica Lozo of Phoenix, AZ, stepsister Linda Benton of Portsmouth, NH; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved granddogs, Sophie, Louie, and Abby.

A celebration of Lonnie's life will be held at The Clubhouse at Village Greens in Laguna Woods, CA.

Lonnie was a champion of animal rights, animal rescue, protection and well-being.
