John Edgar Bell was born in Fort Worth, TX to Thomas and Hattie Mae Bell on October 2, 1948. He attended public schools in Fort Worth graduating from I.M. Terrell High School in 1967. From there he would embark on a 45-year career at the Jack D. Watson Post Office in Fort Worth. He would however serve a few tours in the Asia region as a member of the United States Air Force from 1968-1973 before being discharged honorably in 1974. While on leave he would meet Gwendolyn Denman and upon his return a union of marriage was formed in July 1973. He was involved in many activities including numerous softball and bowling leagues, many pool tournaments, a member of the local postal union and also the American Legion. He also would gain recognition as one of the best DJ's around Fort Worth with an expertise in the Rhythm & Blues along with Smooth Jazz.

John was preceded in death by his parents, an aunt Helen Hill, an uncle John Worsham, and a cousin Billye Ali.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Gwendolyn. He's also survived by two sons, Monte of Plano, TX and Brian of Arlington, TX, sisters Millie Grant and Catherine Bell of Fort Worth, TX and brothers Robert Huey-You of Dallas, TX and Rev. Billy Bell of Duncanville, TX. He also leaves behind two grand children Brianna and Dillon along with numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

He departed this life November 26, 2022.
