Emma Dora Menefee was the daughter of:

James Ennis Menefee (1821-1868) who was born in Virginia.
Harriett Eliza (Gash) Menefee (1827- ) who was born in Missouri.

Her parents were married on 7 Sept 1848 in Marion County, Missouri, and continued to live there throughout their lifetime.

Samuel Feaster took two terms at Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois then worked as a clerk in a hardware store in Philadelphia, Missouri. He later bought out the interest of the owner and for 16 years ran this store.

Emma died in 1890 and was buried in the Philadelphia Cemetery, Marion County, Missouri. Samuel received an appointment as Deputy County Clerk of Marion County, Missouri, and he moved with his children to Palmyra, Missouri. When the County Clerk's term expired in 8 years, Samuel was elected Assistant Cashier of the Bank of Palmyra. He remarried to Catherine Elizabeth Lake (1854-1932) and had two more children, Jennie Evelyn (Feaster) Vaughn (1895-1971) and Exie L. Feaster (1897-1986). On the day Samuel Feaster was to assume a new position as Head Cashier at the Citizens Bank of Philadelphia, February 1, 1923, he dropped dead of a heart attack on the streets of Palmyra. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Marion County, Missouri.
