Elsie E. Tinnell, 77, of Sykesville died Monday, January 10, 2005, at her home.
Born Nov. 13, 1929 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Ethel Buxton Mullinix. She was the wife of Wilmer L. Tinnell of Sykesville.
She was retired from Springfield Hospital Center, Sykesville, where she had worked in nursing and housekeeping. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, crochet and collecting records.
Surviving in addition to her husband are sons Clifton J. Meininger of Sykesville and Harvey Meininger of Westminster; daughters Helen Kidd of Sykesville, Laura Eyler of Westminster and Winona Barnes of Sykesville; brothers Murray Mullinix and Eugene Mullinix both of Mount Airy and Charles Mullinix of Germantown; and sister Georgia Dove of Woodbine. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. Officiating will be Pastor John Morrill. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Elsie was married twice. She married her first husband, John Meininger (1925-2009), on 04/03/1948. John and Elsie had five children, three girls and two boys.

Elsie's second husband was Wilmer Tinnell. There were no children from this marriage.
