Church records at his death indicate that [Johann] Gottlieb Pommerenke was born 8 Dec 1824 in Glashütte, Filehne, Bromberg, Preussen. He emigrated on 7 Nov 1871 departing from the port of Stettin aboard the ship Humboldt with his wife, Ernestine Klünger, and children Amalie, Max, Henriette, Mathilde, and Hulda and with a young man named Herman Anclam who would later marry daughter Amalie. Johann Gottlieb and Ernestine were married in 1849, the marriage having been recorded in Dębogóra [Eichberg]. After Ernestine passed away Johann Gottlieb married a second time to Pauline Zellmer on 12 Nov 1892 in Bloomfield Township, Waushara County, WI. Gottlieb passed away on 30 Apr 1919 at his daughter Hulda's home in Greenville, Outagamie, WI.
