He was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Charles William and Elvire Stegen Mitchell. He married Ellen Ann Campbell on Nov. 1, 1939, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They enjoyed 67 years together. They raised five children, Ralph, Ann, Yvette, Marlane and David.
Morris was a longtime resident of the Burley area. He owned and operated Mitchell Machine Shop. He enjoyed fishing, flying and photography. Morris had served on various community boards and in a variety of callings in the LDS Church.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Officiating will be Bishop Guy Redder. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St. in Burley.
