Reuben, son of Jacob and Sarah (Livingston) Brantner, was born in Sullivan County MO. Married Ida E. Christy, a daughter of Mr and Mrs Scott Christy. Ten children born, eight living,. Wednesday he was putting some carbide into his acetylene light plant, in the ground some distance from the house when the plant exploded. He only lived two hours. Over a thousand people to his funeral at North Salem. The Winigan AF & AM Lodge performed burial rites at the cemetery.
