He retired from Amos Thompson Corp. after 13 years employment and had been employed by Edinburgh Cabinet Co. for 38 years.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eskew Funeral Home here, where persons may call after 4 p.m. today. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery here.
Gideon was born Sept. 29, 1900, in Brown County, to George and Anna Crouch Gideon. He married Monnie Mae Warfield Aug. 28, 1922, and she died June 1, 1976.
Survivors include three children, Hubert and Dorothy Gideon and Melba Burton, all of Edinburgh; one brother, William Gideon of Indianapolis, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was born Sept. 29, 1900 to George and Anna (Crouch) Gideon in Brown County. He married Monnie Mae Warfield on Aug. 28, 1922. She died June 1, 1976.
He had been employed by the Edinburgh Cabinet Company for 38 years and retired from Amos-Thompson Corporation in Edinburgh after 13 years.
A funeral will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eskin Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Hubert Gideon, and two daughters, Dorothy Gideon and Melba Burton, all of Edinburgh; a brother, William Gideon of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mary Craig, Rosa Padgett and Nettie Wineinger, preceded him in death.
