OBITUARY - Joseph T. Durant
The Forest Republican

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at St. Leonard's Church in Laona, for Joseph T. Durant of Laona.
Mr. Durant died at his home at 5337 Linden St., Laona, Monday, February 18, 1985, at the age of 89.

Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at St. Leonard's Church with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Father John Cerkas will officiate at the 10 a.m. Funeral Mass today at the church. Interment will be in the Laona cemetery.

The son of Robert and Mary (Jubert) Durant was born January 25, 1896 in Eland. He grew up in Wittenberg and moved to Laona in 1946 where he had lived since. He married Alice Sturzl April 16, 1926 and she died October 22, 1971. He was also preceded in death by a son.

He was a retired woodsworker and plumber. He was a member of St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Laona and served in the Army in World War I. He was also a member of DAV.

Survivors include one son, Thomas (Margie) Durant of Laona; one brother, Ralph Durant of Milwaukee; and five grandchildren.
