In 1880 Mary Ratcliff Andrews passed away and was interred at the Prairieville Cemetery, across the street from their farm. The weather and roads were very bad that spring and Mary told her sons not to try to bury her beside her husband: Daniel at the Bangor Cemetery in Bangor; Marshall County, Iowa. The Bangor Cemetery is about 18 miles away and would have been a terrible trip under the existing conditions. The Prairieville Cemetery was close and many Friends (Society) were buried there.
