To this union two sons and four daughters were born, of which one son and two daughters passed away in infancy.
He leaves to mourn his passing his companion, two daughters, Mrs. Martha Cross, of Unionville, Iowa, Mrs. Lora Hawkins, Jerome, Iowa, and one son, Clyde of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, Burdette, Dolly, Robert, and Donald Cross of DeKalb, Illinois, Lois and John Cross of Unionville, Iowa, Phyllis, Betty, Mary, and Wm. Richard Hawkins of Jerome, Iowa, Illa Patrick of Des Moines, Iowa, and one great grandson, Ronald Cross of DeKalb, Illinois; a brother, James Patrick of Centervville, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Nettie McCuen of Martinsburg, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He came with his parents to Appanoose county at the age of six years. Most of his life was spent in Appanooose and Wayne counties, except two years he lived in Colorado. He resided on a farm near Seymour for twenty-two years, after which he moved to Seymour four years ago.
He was a member of the U.B. church and the A.F. & A.M. lodge of Unionville, Iowa, and the Eastern Star chapter of Seymour, Iowa.

Funeral services was held from ...funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday Sept. 12, conducted by Rev. J. A. Wilson, music by Mrs. Veitch, Ruth Allener, A. T. __, F. E. Boyer and Mrs. M. Underwood. The Unionville Masonic lodge held services at the ...conducted by Willis Scott, Centerville. Burial in Eaton Cemetery at Unionville.
